Our Year 1 and 2 children at Madingley Pre Prep enjoy a visit from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The Firefighters from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service visited Year 1 and 2 at Madingley on Monday afternoon. The children had lots of interesting questions to ask and were very excited to be invited to have a look inside the fire engine! It was an “an unforgettable experience” according to Sophie.

Here are some of the things that we learnt:

“Call 999 if you see a fire and tell them your address.” Clemmie

“I saw a helmet inside the fire engine.” Amelia

“We saw the kind of clothes they wear. They can get changed in less than two minutes if they have an emergency call.” Rosie

“I learnt what a smoke alarm is.” Matilda

“Firefighters rescue cats too.” Eloise

“Firefighters protect us. We are far more important than the buildings. You can always replace a building!” Isobel
