Dame B's host workshop on the ethos and teaching of science for visiting teachers

On 9 May, Dame B's were very happy to host a group of travelling teachers from The Old School Henstead.  They had made contact earlier in the year after hearing good things about the structure of our curriculum and the innovative way we approach science teaching.

The day consisted of staff members delivering a variety of talks on Plan-Do-Learn-Review, Thematic Learning, Digital Learning and the ethos behind the teaching of Science at Dame B’s.

They spent considerable time during the day mixing with our children and questioning them on what they got up to in class time.  Our children, as always, were exemplary and passionate in their descriptions of the opportunities that are available to them during lessons time; their knowledge was articulately shared with our visitors and it was wonderful to hear our learners talking with such passion!

Our visitors left us at the end of the day full of ideas and concepts to help re-model the curriculum that they want to deliver. For us, it was a useful opportunity to share good practice and a chance to reflect upon the curriculum that we are building/enhancing and delivering!
