Success for Stephen Perse Senior School students in the annual Rotary Technology Tournament.

On Tuesday 5 February, twelve students from Year 9 took part in the annual Rotary Technology Tournament at Freemasons Hall. The event is open to Year 9 students from schools across Cambridgeshire. The students compete in teams of four, working to design and build a device to fulfil a previously unseen STEM brief. This challenged the students to work collaboratively and create something unique and functional.

The projects were assessed by a group of engineers and members of the Rotary Club, and then prizes were awarded. Our team of Georgie, Zabeetah, Naomi and Erin took home first place and were crowned champions of the 2019 tournament. Our team of Charlotte, Sukie, Georgia and Amelia were awarded the runners up prize, the Design and Innovation Award.

This was a fantastic achievement, and was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved.
