Students in years 10 and 11 attended a fascinating inspire and Guide talk by Dr Bronwyn Claire, Senior Programme Manager for ClimateWise at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
ClimateWise is a group of 28 insurance industry members who are responding to the risks and opportunities of climate change. Last year ClimateWise also launched a risk framework for assessing the impact of risks from climate change on infrastructure assets.
Bronwyn began her career in environmental economics at the University of Western Australia, focusing on the incentives driving environmental sustainability. Her PhD investigated how to ensure biodiversity outcomes from payments to farmers through contract design, monitoring and enforcement. Bronwyn moved on to applying her risk management skills in business and government roles.
