The Year 10 Geographers visited the CB1 redevelopment scheme on a fieldwork trip.
They were attempting to find out whether the scheme was successful in improving the quality of the environment. To find this out they conducted environmental quality surveys and, despite a brief hailstorm, asked people’s opinions on the matter.
How effective the scheme was dependent on the students with some having a more positive outlook than others. This points us to an important aspect of fieldwork - how reliable is our data collection? How subjective is our interpretation? Getting this right is no easy task but in today’s world it is more important than ever.
