Year 13 A Level Drama students Tom A and Toby G gave a very moving performance of the final scene from Rachel Wagstaff´s adaptation of Sebastian Faulkes´s novel set in WW1.
As their performance was scheduled a few days after the Year 9 play, also set in WW1, the boys were fortunate to be able to repurpose some of the same set in order to create a realistic impression of the tunnels beneath the trenches and No Man’s Land. Taking inspiration from the theatre practitioner and director Katie Mitchell, Tom and Toby incorporated multi-media into their piece, positioning GoPro cameras so that they could film and project live footage of them crawling through the tunnels onto a backdrop.
