Our rugby teams are enjoying a successful term so far.
The U9 rugby teams have enjoyed two matches against Bishop's Stortford College and Felsted. The A team won both their matches playing some excellent rugby, whilst the B's won one and lost one. It is great to see the boys enjoying their rugby and watching their skills improve.
The U10 and U11 rugby teams have faced King's School Ely since our last update. The U11 team learnt a lot from an excellent visiting side who ran out comfortable winners. The U10A team won their match with a strong team performance. The B team lost their match narrowly in a very entertaining game.
Our U11 rugby team also travelled to Culford for their annual festival and experienced a tough afternoon against strong opposition. Four defeats and two victories in our six matches ended a mixed afternoon in terms of quality of rugby played. Three defeats in our opening three games left the boys a little down. Failing to compete in the contact areas or break the gain line was our downfall in all three games.
Two spirited performances against Moreton Hall and St Josephs allowed the boys to show some of what they were capable of, before a defeat against a powerful Barnardiston side ended the afternoon. Moving forward, the boys need to show more aggression and desire from the start of all games!
