Dame Bradbury's pupils spread festive cheer by participating in Uttlesford Foodbank's Reverse Advent Calendar.
Dame Bradbury's were very pleased this year to be invited to contribute to the Uttlesford Foodbank Reverse Advent Calendar. This excellent initiative by our local food bank in Saffron Walden asked that the children brought in one item per day from a list provided by the food bank.
The idea of giving as well as receiving is not always an easy one for children to get their heads round, and this has been a visible and easy way for them to do exactly that. Each class has filled one of the crates with seasonal goodies and these will be collected and distributed to needy families in the area.
Our thanks go to Henry in Year 6 and his Mum, both of whom are active supporters of the foodbank, and who were keen to get over the message that these families in need are right on our doorstep. They helped show the pupils that it is easy for us to help and that we can make a significant difference at Christmas. Thanks also go to our class reps who have helped coordinate the collection for the younger children.
